Chiquiragua (I think that's the name)

There were 9 of us in the back of the truck and one inside....had to take a bus to the town of Chimbo where we took a truck ..picked up,some of the group and traveled what seemed like 45 more minutes up in the mountains ...after we were done preaching there we walked back from where we came from...preaching to the small towns we had passed on the way up.
In the back: me ( Maricsa), Ali, Jestine ....

On the left side: Luis, Brother Gavilanes, Carla, Yazmin...

On the right: Ever ( who doesn't like pictures) and Oscar ...and inside of the truck we have Yumiko

Our territory...

Oscar and Ever ready to leave the tracts...

Had to go up and down the hills.

Ali always making sure everyone gets the tract....

Many of the people in that town were busy working harvesting the wheat.

Awwwwww!!!!! Baby "chanchos" ( piggies)

These kids were so courious :)... They kep following Ali and I around, until their parents called them back home.

Finally! We found a spot to sit down and eat our lunch...we had so much territory to get done that our lunch came around 1:00 ..we were hungry!!

Ali taking a nap while we wait for some of the friends to meet up to continue our afternoon...

Lunch time view :)

We walked back down the mountain preaching to all of those we found on our way

Yay!! Awesome long service day! Everyone now tired and sunburned :) totally worth it!
The girls had a presentation for the service group :)

Kites!!

Sunday after meeting: some of the young ones got together to make kites! It's nice to see how simple things can still be fun...there is no need for video games, iPads, tv's etc.. We had such a good time just being outside with friends, making our kites with some stick we found, garbage bags, and fishing wire. Never had flown a kite in my life before, I think I was more excited than the younger ones :)!

Our first Sunday meeting in San Miguel... The brothers got their Kingdom Hall remodel last April! And they already have the JW.org sign up as well :)

Tumbuco

Getting used to our new home and territory has been quite the adventure..On Friday morning we went to Tumbuco which is located right outside of San Miguel in the mountains...or what we consider back home to be the Rurals ...this day was way more intense then we anticipated!... We had to go down the mountain, where there wasn't even a trail, to get back in to town..,we were following brother Gavilanes ( brother who has been a special pioneer for 37 years) ..he is definitely in way better shape than we are ! We had a blast but we were undeniably tired when we were done. However, nothing compares to the tiredness you feel after having spent your day talking about Jehovah! A day very well spent :)

Service In Chimbo

On Wednesdays the brothers preach in a town called Chimbo about 15 minutes away. Both Jestine and I found interested people so we hope to start our studies next week :) We've only been here a week but we already feel very productive! The brothers are sooo loving and so appreciative that we have come to help in San Miguel...which the Congo is now called the San Blas Congregation.

Meeting with the Amaguaña Congregation

Amaguaña, Ecuador:  our first meeting in Ecuador with the Amaguaña congregation. They already have the JW.ORG sign up and they have the JW.ORG cards... They have about 20 regular pioneers and 32 more signed up for Auxilary this month. Such a loving and beautiful congregation. We will however only be her for a few more days and then we will finally head to the town of San Miguel de Bolivar where we will settle down for the next six months...only at the beginning of our experience and we have already seen Jehovah's hand helping us along the way.
